We have long been fans of the abstract works of Elise Ferguson. The work has a vitality and energy that emanates, pulses, moves. You can follow a line through the panel, watch as the colors soak up the highway of information you are on the path with, and it seems to actually reverberate. As Shrine notes of The Narrows, "Narrows inherently have unruly energy. Often the result of tectonic activity, these thin tidal straights connecting opposing oceans and seas often have basins at differing levels giving them the potential for bidirectional currents and flow. They’re not easy to predict and must be considered seriously when navigating." Through silkscreens and paintings, The Narrows is texture and layers, reflective and alive. —Evan Pricco
