As the world turns its attention to Basel, Switzerland, we are still looking at what else is going on in the world's of art and stop in LA for Japanese-Filipino artist NKSIN’s new solo show, REVIVAL, at albertz benda's outpost there. We have loved the monchromatic, airbrushed works for the last few years, one of the gems that came onto the scene in the pandemic with his Herculean cartoon-like figures.

Striving to create a more peaceful environment, the artist paints a silent world. The artist says, “We don't want to see or hear such negative information anymore. We want silence.”

“In a world where we are constantly exposed to super-charged imagery, NKSIN’s paintings provide a moment of pause. Through an understated, flat airbrushed style NKSIN’s work represents complex narration and social commentary via unique characters,” notes Thorsten Albertz, Founding Partner of albertz benda.
