We first wrote about the Art Nouveau/Art Deco works of early 20th century artist Gerda Wegener (1886-1940) back in 2013 (and much of her life and relationship to her "first spouse, a trans woman who became her favourite model under the name Lili Elbe, was documented in the film and book The Danish Girl). At the time we wrote, "There’s true beauty in the playfulness of feminine erotic art of the first half of the 20th century, a time of sexual innocence, lustful and light hearted experimentation for Danish artist Gerda Wegener. Her ability to execute their own erotic nature and in her adorable little sex scenes marks an era of victorian romance and playful allure."
