Spoke Art is pleased to present a group exhibition featuring members of the Bay Area graffiti crew, Punks Thugs and Vandals. Opening on June 7th at the Classic Cars West Beer Garden in Oakland, the P.T.V. group exhibition includes a diverse array of artistic styles, inspirations, and backgrounds familiar to San Francisco and Oakland locals, international travelers, and beyond.

It wasn't until after a 2007 press conference when the San Francisco Department of Public Works proclaimed, "It is up to the punks, thugs, and vandals what artwork goes up in the city," that a group of friends began tagging the 'PTV' moniker as a tongue-in-cheek reference to the city's stance on street art. Known for their characters and collaborative pieces, the members of P.T.V. blend styles of punk, hip-hop, SKA and reggae, find commonalities, then take that recipe into graffiti, politics, and fine art.

Punks Thugs and Vandals' characters can be spotted close to home in Oakland and across the US, as well as internationally in South America, South East Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

The "P.T.V." group show opens at Classic Cars West Beer Garden this Friday, June 7th with an opening reception from 6 to 10 pm. The gallery will also be debuting a limited edition screen print and enamel pin by GATS. For more information or additional images, please email [email protected]. "P.T.V." is on display through June 29, 2019.
