It’s a rush of excitement, the delightful surprise of a new Banksy post on Instagram. Granted, there are teases out in the world that lead to speculation of a Banksy project and we suspiciously anticipate confirmation on his social media. Then there are cases like today, where out of the blue, Banksy posts a painting with a simple caption, "Game Changer."

This work, in  a starkly different vein than the bathroom post a few weeks back, features a youngster playing with his toys, and in this case, the toy is a figure of a health care worker replacing the typical comic book figurine. In a basket behind the child are his Batman and Spider-man toys, discarded while the real superhero captivates attention.

Now, another twist. According to the BBC, the new Banksy work "was hung in collaboration with the (Southampton General) hospital's managers in a foyer near the emergency department." The article also notes that Banksy left a message for the hospital workers: "Thanks for all you're doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if its only black and white."

The BBC also reports that "The painting will remain at Southampton General Hospital until the autumn when it will be auctioned to raise money for the NHS."  Clearly raising the stakes for goodness sake.
