The architecture of the Soviet Union has always been some of the most ambitious of the 20th Century, where so many gaudy and grand details were considered. It even extended to the bus stops. Christopher Herwig has been documenting Soviet era bus stops for years, culminating in two volumes and hundreds of photos of incredibly unique structures in the most rural and urban places.

There is a combination of Futurism and opulent design, and even in its simple task of being just a bus stop, there is a certain attention to detail that we don't often see in many mass-produced structures. A great collection of architecture history.
