The family photograph has marked the history of photography as the reflex camera and the 35mm film reel became everyday consumer objects. Four American photographers have made it the core of their work, blending long-term documentary reportage, everyday chronicles, and bittersweet fables. Their names: Marianna Rothen, Meryl Meisler, Peggy Levison Nolan, and Shelby Lee Adams.

The exhibition American Families at Poka Galerie brings them all together.
