The Moleskine Project VIII, a group exhibition curated by Rodrigo Luff and Spoke Art, features over 50 emerging and established artists from around the world. This format-driven exhibition spans artistic styles and mediums, delving into the intimacy of an artists’ sketchbook. Its 2011 debut at Spoke San Francisco was the inaugural show for the gallery’s brick and mortar location, and The Moleskine Project annual exhibition continues to grow, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in each small sketchbook.

Co-curator and Los Angeles-based artist Rodrigo Luff conceived The Moleskine Project as “a tribute to how artists develop and grow by using sketchbooks to dive deeper into personal realms that fuel their artwork, explore new concepts, and even experiment with different media and styles. An energetic visual dialogue of imagery flows from frame to frame, forming a collective sketchbook that allows us to appreciate the radical approach taken by each artist.”

The Moleskine Project VIII will have its opening reception at Hashimoto Contemporary SF on June 1, 2019, from 6 to 9 pm, and will be on display from June 2, 2019, through June 22, 2019. For more information or additional images, please email Spoke Art SF at [email protected].
