The AXA Art Prize (formerly the XL Catlin Art Prize) is one of the leading student art competitions in North America. Building on a 10-year legacy established in the UK, the contest provides a unique opportunity to discover, celebrate and reward emerging artistic talent across the country. We covered the inaugural US iteration last year, and now they're accepting submissions for their 2019 contest until March 15th, 2019. The AXA Art Prize is open to figurative paintings, drawings, and original prints created by undergraduates and graduate art students for a chance to showcase their work in front of juries of major artists and curators, exhibit as part of a traveling exhibition in San Francisco, Chicago and New York, and for first prize winners, $10,000.
