Coinciding with the opening of RYOl's solo show, Thinkspace Projects will open Memories and Manifesting, new works by Mwanel Pierre-Louis, in Gallery II. With work that combines realism and abstraction in a narrative that draws from personal interactions and pop references, Mwanel explores juxtapositions of fragmented experiences and a strong emphasis on the relationship between subject and color.
"The works featured in 'Memories and Manifestions’ deal with childhood memories and references that acquire to manifest the universe as we grow up," the artist says. "The story is colorful and transcends the energy that culture is becoming nowadays within my lens. These paintings represent empowerment of the people and the times. More so positive thoughts and memories."
