Modern West is excited to announce New Works by Frank Buffalo Hyde, an Online-Exclusive exhibition available through February 28, 2022. Through pop-culture references in his work, Artist Frank Buffalo Hyde examines identity and collective consciousness. He deconstructs the stereotype of Contemporary Native Art, dealing with what he calls the "fragmented contemporary life" of a Native U.S. citizen. His new works are bright, playful, and dynamic, featuring a range of pop culture references — from Hopi cheer stunts to Cap’n Crunch “War Pony” tricycles.

A Southwestern-born artist with a career spanning over 25 years who traces heritage to the Nez Perce and Onondaga people, Frank Buffalo Hyde has been recognized for breaking through the boundaries that many place around what they think Native American art should look like. Modern West is pleased to present Frank Buffalo Hyde’s New Works, on view exclusively online through February 28, 2022.
