There has been a buzz in Los Angeles in recent weeks as T&Y Projects is set to open T&Y Gallery in downtown, destined to be a spot to promote Japanese artists and design. Set in the DTLA Arts District, the gallery will takeover a former brick factory built in the 1930s, and kick off with a show that is definitely worth the buzz in this writer's mind. The inaugural group show Shapeshifter will feature former Juxtapoz cover artists Yusuke Hanai and Barry McGee alongside iconic surf pioneer, Herbie Fletcher. The show opens August 25 and will be on view through September 30, 2023. The exhibition will be the first group show of three artists and friends, featuring collaborative art works by each. —Evan Pricco
