Ugh, to travel again. One of the great parts of covering the art world were all the different projects from around the globe and the chance to perhaps even see some in person. The Jaunt has been one of the great projects combining both travel and art together with some of the great artists we have covered in these pages through the years. In lieu of all of our travel holds at the moment, the Jaunt is bringing their project to Paradigm in Philly.

This year Paradigm Gallery has teamed up with art curator and artist residency travel planner Jeroen Smeets of The Jaunt. We’re looking forward to presenting the artwork by the artists of their 2020 “Summer Camp” program opening* on October 23, 2020 and remaining on view through November 21, 2020.

A virtual opening and live artist Q&A will kick off on Friday, October 23rd at 5:30pm EDT. Reserve your spot!

"For this year’s edition of our Summer Camp, we invited four artists to come and stay with us at Camp Wandawega in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we chose to curate local artists to keep travel to a minimum. From Chicago, we invited Kelly Knaga and David Heo (seen above), and out of Detroit, we invited Bakpak Durden and Ellen Rutt (seen above). Cody Tumblin, artist and chef, was cooking up delicious meals for the artists together with his wife, and as such played an important role in the group dynamic. Over the course of 4 days, the artists explored the area together and had the opportunity to escape the city and be in the midst of nature amongst kindred spirits."
