We are pleased to announce our April 2017 cover story on Brooklyn-based, Philly-born artist Timothy Curtis, aka Agua. Let's let Stephen "ESPO" Powers explain, from a few years back in Juxtapoz...

The Love letter For You movie is, in a large sense, about a guy that we know and love named Agua. He is the main inspiration and is currently incarcerated. The genesis of the film is that Agua is going to go to jail, it was only a matter of time, and I wanted to leave something out here for him to come home to.”

So here we are in 2017, and Timothy Curtis is in his artistic prime. Fresh off working with ESPO at the Brooklyn Museum on the Coney Island Is Still Dreamland (To a Seagull) exhibition, our Contributing Editor, Joey Garfield, sat down with Curtis to discuss his past, present, and future, and how to make a character come to life.
