Escif has been highly productive in the streets lately, painting several new murals in Modena, Italy for the Icon 59 Festival and currently is in Montreal, Canada where he just finished the large image of a giant deadbolt for their local Mural Festival.

The two-person exhibition Butcher’s Hook featuring the work of Jesse Hazelip and Jon Todd opens tonight, June 8, 2013 at Yves Laroche in Montreal, Quebec. Todd will be showing new expressionistic-like portrait paintings, while Hazelip’s work is ballpoint pen drawings and mixed media. Each have a very different esthetic but both share a common ground in focusing on suppressed and marginalized members of society. 

Over the past year, Juxtapoz and Converse have teamed on a unique project, Wall to Wall, where we invite an artist in a city in North America to create a semi-permanent mural based around the artist's interpretation of the iconic Converse star. Today, we look back on the mural created in Montreal by former Juxtapoz feature artists and design team, 123Klan. The piece was completed on Boulevard Saint-Laurent.

This morning, Montreal-based photographer, graphic designer, and silversmith Sofia Ajram welcomes us with a series of surreal dreamscapes. Sofia wants to share with you "the galaxies projected within and without: absolute space and absolute time."

'Jessi Preston is a tattoo artist, graphic designer, painter and sneaky devil. She has traveled as an unarmed gypsy, mastered the art of pinata destruction, and managed to elude bigfoot since receiving her BFA from the Tyler School of Art. Jessi can now be found offering class acts, tattoos and other uncomfortable situations in Montreal where she lives happily with her main squeeze and works at Bodkin Tattoo.'

Sylvie LS works out of Unity Tattoo in Montreal where she brings bold and unique designs straight to skin. Animals, characters, and creatures make up most of her tattoo subjects, all filled with incredible detail and skill.
