Now through September 14, Brooklyn-based artists FAILE (who also have a exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum right now, what a summer for these dudes), have an interactive-installation in Times Square called "Wishing on You." As they said on their Instagram, the project is a "Spinning the 7ft tall, hand carved wooden wheel kinetically powers the neon lights in the ceiling of the sculpture. The entire structure is made of wood and carved wood a nice organic contrast in the midst of Times Square." Our contributor Joe Russo was their to document the whole thing!

We finally got a chance to look through all of our Faile photos from the opening days of their phenomenal "Savage/Sacred Young Minds" exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum that runs through October 4, 2015. As you may remember in our June issue, we did a studio visit of the works in progress for the show, and today, we want to share the shots that Joe Russo took for us at the museum.

There are two pivotal moments in FAILE’s career that stand out from the rest. The Times Square mural painted in 2013 was a reminder of the majestic size and overall collage aesthetic style their work can capture at its fullest, and the extent by which street art can be its most pop-centric. And, of course, Les Ballets de Faile installation at the New York City Ballet in 2013, a piece of art that was a literal monument connecting urban imagery with the high performance art that is the ballet. These two extremes perfectly define what FAILE is and has become; a balance between both outdoor and indoor presentations that reimagine the space they inhabit in a way that magnifies their…

A group of painters descended upon Manila, Philippines this week for the first annual Bonifacio Global City art festival (artBGC) produced by LA’s LeBasse Projects. For me, it’s a privilege to be painting alongside seven unstoppable international artists who are battling big walls this week...

We kick off the summer months with some bright lights and bold nights with June 2015 cover artist, Ryan McGinness. The NYC-based artist has his hands in a little bit of everything these days; installation, painting, Instagram-projects, murals, parties, museum shows... he is all over the place with imaginative and conceptual fine art. Carlo McCormick writes our cover story this month and finds meaning in McGinness's world of symbols

We always keep our eye out on the auction scene, and ArtNet just launched a new Urban Art auction (now through March 10, 2015) on their site that has some solid pieces of note. A few Kaws gems, Shepard Fairey, Faile, Swoon, Banksy, Dalek, Futura, D*Face, and Paul Insect all are available, amongst others, and with Banksy's big Gaza release this past week, we think there is going to be some strong interest in a few of his works here.

If you are a regular reader of Juxtapoz.com, you probably know that we often don't get the chance to write about art auctions on our site. But the editors here are constantly checking what is happening on the auction scene, and we really like some of the Lots that are up for bidding on the Artnet Urban Art Auction that is live through December 18, 2014.

For the last 20 years, Juxtapoz Art and Culture Magazine has stood for the outsiders, to create a place and dialogue for artists who stood outside of the museum programming of the time but were creating substantial and amazing work that needed its own historical context. We have been lucky in our 20th year to celebrate special events in NYC and San Francisco, but we are even luckier to get a chance to celebrate with our July 2014 cover artist, Shepard Fairey, as he curates a major public art and exhibition, "Art Alliance: The Provocateurs" in Chicago during Lollapolooza, July 31—August 4, 2014.
