British artist Chemical X unveils his controversial "Skid Rodeo Drive" initiative in the homeless ghetto of Skid Row, Los Angeles.

With the latest homelessness statistics for Los Angeles showing a 12% increase to almost 60,000 homeless people, contemporary artist Chemical X reveals his latest work, "Skid Rodeo Drive - The Street Where Luxury and Poverty Meet". This controversial work is designed to bring the luxurious brands of Rodeo Drive into direct contact with the resident homeless of Skid Row, LA's poorest district.

The artist worked with community leaders, local artists, and residents to create this twelve tent piece. Tents donated to the citizens of the street were covered in the livery of some of the most high profile names in fashion including Louis Vuitton, Prada, Ralph Lauren, and Chanel were placed on the street of San Julian in the heart of Skid Row.

“I find Rodeo Drive pretty offensive, but Skid Row is just obscene. Not the community, but the fact that these places exist in the same town only a few miles apart. Luxury and poverty side by side is a very uncomfortable but powerful image.” - Chemical X

Chemical X is currently working on his next show ‘Fake’ which will be revealed in Los Angeles in 2020.
