Tom Gerrard is an artist from Melbourne, Australia. He started out as a graffiti writer in the mid 90s and has since spent 8 years travelling the globe, experiencing different cultures and developing his style. His studio practice has developed from the characters he has painted on the streets and his daily drawings based on Australian suburbia.
In recent years Tom has carved out a name for himself exhibiting in galleries locally and internationally while continuing to paint on the streets. On top of this, he does his weekly art podcast Bench Talk where he speaks to artists around the world about their practice. Tom's work exhibits a sense of playfulness and insight into the suburban identity via charming character portrayals which he's taken into 2D and wood cutouts. It's impossible not to be charmed by the simple yet insightful aesthetics of his paintings and mural work.&
