Herb Williams is an artist whose interest lies in identifying objects that society perceives to associate with one role and reintroduces them into different subtexts. With the project “ Unwanted Visitor: Portrait of a Wildfire”, Williams created five freestanding sculptures using thousands of individual crayons.

Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, Ca has been collecting a variety of unique sculptures over the years. The most recent addition is an Ice Cream Sandwich character to celebrate the unveiling of their next operating system, known as Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

Dresden’s Military History Museum opens to the public this Saturday after seven years of renovation. Grabbing your immediate attention is architect Daniel Libeskind’s aggressive sharp grey wedge made of steel and glass that was added to the building. We were reminded of Kurt Vonnegut’s, Slaughter House Five and his writing of his experience of the bombing of Dresden. The city was completely leveled and as one survivor explains, “It is not possible to describe! Explosion after explosion. It was beyond belief, worse than the blackest nightmare.”

The Brazilian twins or the hardest working twins, Os Gemeos posted some preview photos from their show opening later this month at Museu Vale. This solo exhibition will feature entirely new work and the artists will occupy the museum for the entire month of October. Show opens October 28th in Vila Velha, Brazil.

Brooklyn-based artist, Maya Hayuk recently received the Wet Paint Grant, supplying her with a year worth of art equipment. Beautiful/Decay Magazine provided the Grant to the artist in conjunction with Canson and Royal Talens art supply brands. Maya’s is a multi-talented artist who works in a variety of mediums.
