If you find yourself in the New York area tonight, we suggest you leave your house and go see Rammellzee’s “The Equation” at The Suzanne Geiss Company.  The graffiti writer, performance artist, hip-hop musician, art theoretician, and sculptor was a unique individual who created compelling work.  This exhibition will explore the work of the reclusive artist, his manifestos and the science fiction-influenced culture that he embodied. The show will run through April 21st, 2012.

We took a yesterday off from posting any Escif work giving readers a break, however the Spanish artist has been actively painting walls daily and we feel every one has unique concept worth sharing.  This one is tilted “Exfoliante de Polonio” or in English “Polonio Facial Scrub” and was painted in Valencia, Spain.

Kent Twitchell

Arriving in Los Angeles in 1968, Kent Twitchell’s impact on the mural movement was considerable. Many of his realism murals can still be seen around Los Angeles, although many fell victim to graffiti and weather deterioration over the last 15 years. Chances are you have seen some of these murals but never realized who was responsible. In 2008, Twitchell settled a lawsuit against 12 defendants and the U.S. Government for painting over a 70 –foot-tall landmark mural he had painted of Edward Ruscha.
