We saw this amazing video for Flying Lotus' track "Phantasm" from the album "Until the Quiet Comes," and was just reminded about how incredible it was when we saw it reposted on ItsNiceThat. Director Markus Hofko filmed this surreal adventure over two days on Desert Rd, on the North Island of New Zealand. He notes about the production: "2 characters and me behind the camera was all there was. Nice and simple. And complicated." Enjoy.

A few weeks ago, we found an album cover for a Prefuse 73 record that blew our minds, but we couldn't find who the artist was. We just found out that Australian artist Dan McPharlin, who has an eye and hand for some incredible science fiction and surreal landscape works, is the man behind many great album covers.

Dub-electro trio Major Lazer (Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Jillionaire) along with Pharrell dropped their single "Aerosol Can" earlier this year. For the video, long-time Mad Decent creative contributor Kyle DePinna directs an animated timelapse of none other than Mike Giant as he writes out the lyrics on white walls in marker. Interesting.

Leif Podhajsky has been one of our favorite art directors and artists for music album covers in recent years, having worked with Foals, Lykke Li, Tame Impala, Grimes, Mount Kimble, and Youth Lagoon amongst others. Leif does the new wave psychedelia very well, combining photography and collage in a way that seems both futuristic and vintage. Leif just did the packaging and cover design for Kelis' new LP, "Food," and the accompanying singles.
