Adam 'Lilfuchs' Fuchs is the brains behind this epic 'Flying Lotus - Zodiac Sh*t' animation that was created for Adult Swim. He performs feats that delight and astound, and as animation director at Turner Studios, he has chased wild scribbles through the badlands of television, inked epic doodles over mountains of print and apparel, and has driven herds of untamed mental concoctions into the Lands of Milk and Approval. He is based in Atlanta, GA.

Stop-motion seems like it has been around and been done well for a long time now, but we still get a kick out of a really well done stop-motion animation. The music video for Shugo Tokumaru's Katachi features a long winding tale of stop-motion fun by directors Kijek/Adamski. It sort of crawls along, literally, and features a footballer, a wolf, a palm tree, an explosion, and people radiating positive vibes.

Literally, Thom Yorke, Flea, and Nigel are getting the band back together. The little accidental supergroup, Atoms For Peace, are set to release a new album, Amok, on February 25 through XL Recordings, and to kick off the new year, the band just released a music for the previously toured track, "Judge Jury and Executioner". The video features artwork by audiovisual artist Tarik Barri. Enjoy.

Leif Podhajsky recently caught our attention after we saw his album cover art for his fellow Australians, Tame Impala. As an artist and creative director, his work explores themes of connectedness, the relevance of nature and the psychedelic or altered experiences of life. By using these subjects, he attempts to inspire the viewer into a realignment with themselves and their surroundings.

We found ourselves enjoying simpler, well-executed music videos this year, and although we might have wanted an excuse to get Michelle Williams onto the website this year, but we enjoyed her role in the video for Paradise by Wild Nothing. Directed by Matt Amato, the video features airports, waterfalls, planes, and a good haircut.

Okay, we all in agreement that puppets and puppeteering is a little creepy? Of course, I'm going by the Thom Yorke / Modeselektor version of puppeteering, and this brilliantly bizarre video from FutureDeluxe and Andrew Jones for the track "This" that was a standout for us in 2012. Not sure if it is the puppet or puppeteer that takes over and goes beyond the call of reality in this one, but aroudn the 3 minute mark, the world takes a turn.

What we wrote on November 22: Wow. We don't know why we became so transfixed with this video, how we couldn't dare take our eyes off of it, but Emily Kai Bock's Nightlife video for musician Sebastien Schuller is one of the better ones we have seen all year. You don't need a big budget, some grand arching storyline, just an expert idea of light and mood. Somehow, we are either excited about our trip to Miami in two weeks, or terrified. Stunning simplicity at work.

In our opinion, the new Grizzly Bear LP, Shields, was one of the best of 2012, and "Yet Again" one of the best tracks on said album. The track just got a wonderful video treatment from director Emily Kai Bock, following an ice skater's serene yet imperfect routine that descends into a bit of chaos and anger. Like the song, well done.
