Jon Smith takes your standard incadescent light bulb and fills and covers them with various objects, paint, and other mysterious substances. He then photographs them exploading into colorful and visually exciting in front of his camera. 

This past May, we were very excited to print an exclusive interview with famed photographer and public artist, Spencer Tunick. As you probably know, Tunick is the photographer with the knack of getting a large group of people to strip naked, go somewhere very public, and be photographed as a collective and spirit of bare emotion. His works are powerful, unifying, provocative, and at times, just really damn fun and full of life. We loved the piece, and wanted to share it with our online readers. 

Simon Prades is a freelancing illustrator living and working in Saarbrucken Germany. He teaches illustration at the University of Applied Sciences in Trier. Over the last years he has been working for companies such as the New York Times, The New Statesmen, The New Republic and NIKE. His work is sensitive and gritty, illustrations that make serious use of the artist's hand. They exhibit a sense for exquisite linework in a variety of different mediums.

We actually like a bit of the irony in this window display. We always think that fashion house store window displays has the capacity for really great art installations, and Louis Vuitton is always at the high point of that experimentation. Taking inspiration from the Natural History Museum in Paris' Les Jardins des Plantes, the 5th Avenue storefront is now adorned with gold dinosaur skeletons, mixed with the early Fall 2013 look.

A few of us here in the office are in the process of buying some new furniture, and I know how i feel; I like things minimal but with a bit concept. Maybe I should go with this collection of spider furniture by designer Bruno Freire for Brazilian brand Oficina Polvo. The collection features an assortment of lamps, tables, desks, and even a chandelier.

The following is a selection of various works painted by a street artist who goes by the alias, Alleg. While most of these pieces have reoccurring elements such as cars and figures, others are completely abstract using organic shapes.

British sculptor Antony Gormley originally proposed his Another Place project back in 1995 for installation on the Kugelbake in Germany. The series, featuring 100 cast iron figures has since made appearances on beaches throughout Europe (Germany, Norway, and Belgium). The installation is now permanently sited outside Liverpool on Crosby Beach. Each figure stands about 6-feet tall and weighs over 1,400 lbs.!

This morning we take a look at the photoreal paintings of Eric Zener. The self taught northern California-based artist's water and underwater paintings begin with a photo transfer from which he then builds the mixed media work in layers, using various processes to create the depth and buoyancy. 

Ben Zank is a young New York-based photographer who has been producing a new photograph every single day as part of his 365 project. Ben's photos reflect a ripe imagination and a fantastic eye for the mysterious.

This series by Japanese artist Teppei Kaneuji is entitled Teenage Fan Club. Known for his found-object assemblages, the artist uses plastic toys, scissors, helmets, and in this case, removable hair, gluing them together in bizarrely fascinating and colorful arrangements.
