A group of painters descended upon Manila, Philippines this week for the first annual Bonifacio Global City art festival produced by LA’s LeBasse Projects. For me, it’s a privilege to be painting alongside seven unstoppable international artists who are battling big walls this week, including CYRCLE, Drew Merritt, AKACORLEONE, FAILE (featured in our June issue), Nate Frizzell, Egg Fiasco and Anjo Bolarda. Filmmakers Aleks Kocev and Blaine Suque are documenting the magic and mayhem, and Kocev is using a drone to capture all angles. Manila is a city undergoing major development, and the giant buildings around here are begging for big art. Any mural painter would look around and visualize a sea of canvases.

We’ve hit the ground running, and we’re all up for the challenge of painting in Manila (hello, 100% humidity). Since it’s the first big mural festival in the city, we are fully pioneering this thing! Wish us luck and stay tuned for updates as these paintings of epic proportions unfold. Kristin Farr
