Mario Giacomelli was an Italian photographer who was largely untrained, compositionally and technically. His images have become iconic because of their serendipitous and playful beauty. He is widely known for his aerial photographs, but his images of Italian life are equally phenomenal. Giacomelli is a man who fully transformed his creativity into the photographic medium which he dedicated his life to exploring. Giacomelli died in his hometown, Senigallia, in 2000.
