The Dalton Highway is a 414 mile long road in Alaska, running from just north of Fairbanks to the Prudhoe Bay Oil Field near the Arctic Ocean. Photographer Ben Huff became fascinated with the road after moving to Fairbanks and exploring the area on a short trip to the Arctic Circle. The project, which also exists as a book, features gritty landscapes and portraits, focusing on the trucks and drivers who make the trip north regularly. Huff calls the results “and untreated exploration of people and place” with an “apocalyptic kind of look.” The photos are currently being exhibited at the Museum of the North in Fairbanks, AK and will be on display through the summer.
