Until February 28, a collection of Erwin Olaf’s photographs will be on display at Hasted Kraeutler Gallery in New York. The exhibition titled “Waiting: Selections from Erwin Olaf: Volume I & II” showcases some of Olaf’s most profound images depicting moments between action.

Through his unique photographic style, Olaf creates captivating environmental portraits that invite the viewer into each individual narrative. Describing Olaf’s work, the gallery’s website explains, “A compelling frisson is generated in the space between his superficially sleek surfaces and the depth of emotion they convey; between their expressive power and their formal silence. Every work Olaf produces is characterized by an almost overpowering energy of potential and poise, hovering in a place where all action is merely suggested or insinuated”.
