Unga (of Broken Fingaz) new solo exhibition explores scenarios that emphasize the pathos, loneliness and humor in search for happy death.

On Halloween night Andenken Gallery in Amsterdam opened the first solo exhibition by Unga of Broken Fingaz, comprising of two new series of work on paper and textile.

The first series of large-scale black and white paintings features Unga's familiar "Fat Man" character, more agile than ever, exploring new scenarios that emphasise the pathos, loneliness and humour in the search for happy death.

In the second chapter, Unga experiments with a new medium: a series of hand-embroidered works made in collaboration with Mayan artisans. Combining Pop and Folk art aesthetics, Unga suggests a comment on indigenous style with an invasion of corporate waste and animals on the traditional landscape.
