Timothy Robert Smith "Multi-Dimensionalism" @ Copro Gallery, LA

Nov 07, 2015 - Nov 28, 2015Copro Gallery, Santa Monica

Timothy Robert Smith, who we have profiled in our print edition in the past, will open a new body of work, Multi-Dimensionalism, at Copro Gallery on November 7 and running through November 28, 2015. From the artist, "Reality is an amalgamation of collective experiences, patterns, and ideas. My work is an attempt to understand how our own, personal worlds fit into the ever-changing, agreed-upon picture of the universe. Do our minds create the world around us; and what, if anything, is real? . . . "

"Reality is an amalgamation of collective experiences, patterns, and ideas. My work is an attempt to understand how our own, personal worlds fit into the ever-changing, agreed-upon picture of the universe. Do our minds create the world around us; and what, if anything, is real? How much information is misinterpreted, or hidden between the cracks of (what we think is) time and space? In these paintings, the viewer lives in a place where all possible perceptions exist. Angles move and intersect as perspective shifts. We are looking up, down and all around at the same time (or maybe without time), seeing as the floor sees, and as the ceiling sees, as the ground sweeps beneath our feet. Branching timelines show alternate versions of the same person, repeating into an infinite feedback loop in a quantum multiverse."
