The Work of Nikko Hurtado

March 04, 2015

Nikko Hurtado grew up in the high desert of San Fernando Valley drawing cartoons and characters for fun, but his love for art transformed when his friend got a car and they could drive to the nearest city to take art classes. Hurtado began a tattoo apprenticeship with the same friend years later and is now known as the go-to artist for color portraits. He started the Black Anchor Collective tattoo studio in 2009 and people come from all over the globe to get a piece by him. His work “About the Birds” is featured in 20 Years Under the Influence of Juxtapoz show in LA at Copro Gallery curated by Andrew Hosner, up until April 19, 2015.
