The Cinematic Still Lifes of Amy Bennett

March 18, 2015

Amy Bennett's name came up recently in a yet-to-published interview with a very famous comic book artist, and the artist mentioned just how great Bennett was/is. We agree. It must be something in the water up there in Portland, Maine. Bennett's work is like still-life studies for films, with multiple angles and sets constructed in oils. The result is stunning and follows an imaginary narrative, making each show a time-capsule.

She has a show at Richard Heller Gallery later in 2015, we can't wait! (That studio shot above is a little teaser on her site).
