The Art of Robin Rhode

October 22, 2013

South African artist Robin Rhode embraces a variety of media from photography to drawing, animation, performance and sculpture. Using simple, ephemeral devices, the Berlin-based artist often works in public spaces, using walls or just the street as his canvas. Rhodes transforms simple shapes into elements of narratives, interacting with only an imagined presence. This type of narrative goes back to an initiation ritual he experienced at South African high schools where new students were forced to draw and interact with their drawing.
