Through an inventive approach to materials, and a deep commitment to both craft and honesty, Sophia Narrett has redefined embroidery to build a three part narrative shaped by personal experiences, dreams, erotica, tumblr, and literature. Early in the Game at Freight + Volume uses fiction to consider roleplay, and its capacity to initiate self discovery, alleviate pain, expand relationships and offer joy, as well as its potential to lead to situations of miscommunication, abandonment, and manipulation.

The tone here is a mixture of desire, silliness, and fear, and at times leads one to question whether the power dynamics have been consensually orchestrated to incite pleasure and excitement, or whether a threat of real violence exists. The narrative suggests collaborative hedonism as a way for the characters to shape their own realities and to attempt to find happiness through an escapist impulse.
