As Ed Hardy: Deeper than Skin continues its summer run at the de Young museum in San Francisco, we have been touching base with the tattoo and fine art community at large on a series of reflections and thoughts on not only Ed Hardy's career but tattoo culture worldwide. A few of those stories you can read here, as last week we spoke with one of our favorite tattoo artists, Smith Street Tattoo Parlour's Bert Krak

Today we speak muralist, graffiti and fine artist, Amandalynn, who we have worked with in the past and have always loved her style and aesthetic both indoors and outdoors. As an art director and conservator as well, and an artist who has opened her practice to collaboration, Amandalynn understands that process when she sees Ed Hardy's work. Both artists share their practice with others, allow for others to shine as well as their own craft to tell their personal stories.

"From a very young age I was draw to the art of tattooing and to artists who are relentlessly dedicated to their craft. Ed Hardy is a prolific example of an artist who not only is dedicated to his practice, but who also shares his knowledge and work with the world in a massive way. I respect that type of passion and can only hope to embody it in some sort of way in my own artistic endeavors." —Amandalynn
