VHILS Goes Dam Big In Northern Portugal

July 20, 2018

Vhils is no stranger to putting murals in interesting and surprising places, but his most recent work may be his most ambitious to date. In collaboration with Energias de Portugal (EDP), Vhils painted a portrait of a labor worker on the side of the Caniçada Dam in northern Portugal. The portrait on the dam was a “face inspired by the workers who gave their body and soul to the building of the dam, surrounded by a group of children and tree elements." (via Arrested Motion)

Interesting enough, EDP has been working on various public art projects to put murals on the facades of dams throughout Portugal. Perhaps we will be showcasing more of these works in the future!
