Just as his solo show at Montana Gallery in Barcelona was closing, Muretz decided to repaint one of his older walls in Sao Paulo. Working for few days on the bustling Av. Rebouças, the Brazilian artist created this fresh collage featuring some of his signature characters and concepts.
Using a slightly different approach to his flat illustrative style, the new imagery includes shades of gray as well as a new way of utilizing outlines. Adding a simple feel of depth through use of tones, the new piece features some of his previously seen but now reinvented images, as well as couple of new ones. Simple and crisp in every aspect from fill-ins to line work, background, and final signature, this new wall reminds us why we always loved Muretz' quirky work.––Sasha Bogojev
