Following global success from large-scale public art projects in Seoul, Taipei and Hong Kong, KAWS has teamed up once again with AllRightsReserved for a fourth edition of the KAWS: HOLIDAY series. This time, the 40-meter-long inflatable Companion relaxes on the plateau of Fumotoppara Camping Ground, located at the foothill of the majestic Mt. Fuji in Fujinomiya, Japan.

From test install shots, we see the inflatable Companion leisurely relaxing with its legs slightly bent, head resting on one arm, and gazing peacefully toward the greatest symbol of Japan’s natural beauty. Twenty years after the original, 3D version was created out of vinyl, the Winter Issue cover artist urges the world to slow down and enjoy nature.

The idea of shutting out the world is further extended by an exclusive camping adventure in the Japanese great outdoors that will place from July 18th to the 24th. Sponsored by Herschel Supply, the week-long outdoor installation and camping experience kicks off with a ceremonial camp day in the presence of the artist, with an accompanying line of exclusive products designed by the artist and produced by AllRightsReserved. ––Sasha Bogojev
