On March 10th, 2012, the world lost one of the great masters of comic book art, Jean Giraud, aka Moebius, at age 73 after a long struggle with cancer. The French artist is most widely known for his work on the comics Blueberry and Silver Surfer, his contributions to the sci-fi magazine Métal Hurlant (Heavy Metal), and his cinematic collaborations with likes of Alejandro Jodorowsky and Ridley Scott. Prolific, skillful, and highly respected, Giraud's artistic presence will be sorely missed.
