As we noted on the site the other day, tonight, Friday, November 9, Portland-based fine artist, Josh Keyes, opens a new solo show, The Circus and The Sea, at Roq La Rue Gallery in Seattle. Today we have a nice preview, as well as noting that Mr Keyes will release a new print, "Exodus I", available only to walk in's to the gallery starting at 5pm on November 9th. All profits from the print go to the Big Life Foundation, a organization that is actively combating wildlife poaching in east Africa.
From the gallery:
"Keyes' style is reminiscent of the diagrammatic vocabulary found in scientific textbook illustrations that often express, through a detached and clinical viewpoint, an empirical representation of the natural world. Assembled into this virtual stage set are references to contemporary events along with images and themes from his personal mythology. Josh Keyes' work is a hybrid of eco-surrealism and dystopian folktales that express a concern for our time and the Earth's future."
And here is the print info:
Giclee on watercolor paper with hand deckled edges
18" x 24" signed and numbered

All profit goes to Big Life Foundation, a organization that is actively combating wildlife poaching in east Africa. This means EVERY cent of the print goes directly to help wildlife. You can learn more about Big Life here: http://www.biglife.org/
