As night fell and the temps hit below freezing in Detroit, Inner State Gallery opened their last show. After 5 years and over 50 exhibitions, the gallery will be relocating just a mile up the street from their current location to the Heidelberg Arts District, home of Tyree Guyton's Heidelberg Project. After opening their first gallery 323East, the owners of Inner State and 1xRUN have collected and stockpiled a 4000 square foot warehouse of art, editions, samples, equipment and more...
Friday's show was the first time that many local collectors got a chance to score editions from 1xRUN's past releases and other oddities from their warehouse. With DJ Dez spinning funk, classic, soul, R&B and house to hundreds of collectors buying up boxes of art, editions and the link.
The gallery will be open every Saturday through December 16th. As they continue to pack up for the move, they will be rehanging the gallery each weekend.
As 2017 comes to a close, Inner State Gallery will be hosting a series of events like this show every weekend, featuring hundreds of pieces of original artwork, sculptures, fine art editions as well as unique offerings from local vendors for our annual Holiday Markets. These events are free and open to the public.
