The enigma of Susu Laroche’s images is almost as mysterious as the woman behind the lens.
The name Susu Laroche is an anagram for the statement “Chaos Lure Us Chaos Rule Us” and translates to “Awakening the Rock.” Her images themselves are haunting analogue portrayals of mankind, but the anonymity of the subjects only perpetuates the obscurity of her work. Perhaps incorporating her Egyptian and French descent into her photography is what distances the collection from other photographic contemporaries.
