Kevin O'Meara is a Minneapolis artist focused on silver-based film photography. He is largely self-taught, picking up information through his grandfather, a lifelong NPPA photographer, and through conversations with other artists.
His work is highlighted by predominant use of on-camera flash. O’Meara creates work that is both emotionally honest and true to the style of street documentary. Whether it’s teenagers making out in a bathtub, a local concert, or the patrons of the Minnesota State Fair; he treats all his subject matter with they respect they deserve. Kevin's influences include Jacob Aue Sobol, Nan Goldin, Martin Parr, Chris Shaw and Ramon Muxter.
