Katherine Squier’s portfolio takes a confessional route — journalistic in style yet professional in composition.
Her lighting sources vary in the images just as they do in real life, using the sun and windows to her advantage in the daytime, and relying on artificial fixtures and flash in the night. Although her collection is far from a series of head shots, she manages to explain a lot about the people in question quite artfully. Squier, who is based in both NYC and Austin, shoots for Urban Outfitters, Zara, and Dazed & Confused.
