The photography of Sean Mundy

August 11, 2014

Simplistic yet allegorical, 22-year-old photographer Sean Mundy draws meaning and inspiration from his subjectivity, creating fantastical albeit impassioned images that embody a palette of emotion. Led by sentiment, Mundy’s work is conceptual, offering personal glimpses into moments of pain, confusion and self-doubt. With titles like Structures, Idolatry and Sigil, Mundy relishes artwork left open to interpretation, often creating more questions than answers and saturating his work with a sense of the mysticism behind conception. He adds, “I hope for people to see meaning in my photos where I never intended there to be meaning.”
