The best part of the works of Lina Iris Viktor is that they are impossible to categorize. They are painting, photography, performance, and a multi-disciplinary practice informed by her study of film at Sarah Lawrence College and continued studies with photography and design at The School of Visual Arts. This background has created a unique universe, one that her gallery notes is "Her works merge photography, performance, abstract painting, and an ancient practice, gilding, which she uses 24-karat gold. Her practice creates increasingly dark canvases, embedded with “layers of light” in the form of symbols and intricate patterns. Viktor regards these dark canvases to be “light works,” each provoking a philosophical commentary. The material addresses the infinite and the finite, immortality and mortality, the microcosm and macrocosm."

A few days ago, we shared Viktor's works on our IG, and with such a positive response from our audience, wanted to show more works today.
