Tom Saater’s photography gives us colorful snapshots of everyday life in various regions of Africa. His professional work, photojournalism, has included coverage of political aspects of the continent, but his personal work reaches beyond that to smaller moments, captured in his street photography.

Saater is a documentary photographer/ photojournalist and videographer. He focuses on reportage, and social/cultural issues. In December 2009 he was invited by the British Council to participate in a photography project called “My Home is Here,” which involved traveling around Nigeria to produce images of Climate Change there. He’s participated twice in the Invisible Borders trans-Africa road trip project, traveling from Lagos, Nigeria to Sarajevo Eastern Europe, stopping in major cities creating personal documentary projects and collaborating with local artists.
