Steve McCurry's memories of 9/11

He is best known for his 1984 photograph "Afghan Girl," which originally appeared in National Geographic Magazine. In this video, McCurry shares his memories of 9/11 and how it changed his neighborhood, New York, and the landscape of the country. He also talks about why it’s important to document such tragic events. McCurry is currently exhibiting “Picturing Asia: Double Take” with fellow artist Brian Blake at the Te Uru Wautakere Contemporary Gallery in Auckland, New Zealand.
