In part of the ongoing Pratt Photography Lectures series, self-taught, Los Angeles-based photographer, Anthony Hernandez wil be having a conversation with Richard B. Woodward and Photography Chair Stephen Hilger.
His photographs have been collected by many museums in both the United States and Europe. He has received three National Endowments for the Arts Fellowships, the Charles Pratt Memorial Award, the Higashikawa Prize, the DG Bank-Forderpreis Fotografie Award, the Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome, and a United States Artist Award. The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is currently displaying a retrospective of his work, accompanied by a major publication, which is on view through January 1, 2017.
