In his series “Portland at Night”, photographer Lucas DeShazer embraces the eerie and tranquil moments he finds at night in Portland, Oregon. Using the nighttime landscape to emphasize the misty appearance that has become a staple of the Pacific Northwest, DeShazer takes us into a terrain that could easily have existed forty years ago. With the harsh glow of neon signs and the empty wet streets reflecting their impact on the hazy environment, the viewer is given the sense of exploring a seemingly post apocalyptic state void of any human presence.
