Nina Manandhar is a street savvy photographer capturing all walks of life on the streets of East London.
Her interest in youth culture and style led her to be the author and curator of the book What We Wore, which documents British subculture over 60 years. Manandhar has said that she prefers to enter her subjects’ space rather than staging her images, which can sometimes lead to quite a hostile reception from the subjects but results in more authentic photos. Her photos are separate from the archetypal London hipster, and feel much more genuine; which is evident in her self-published book named Money on my Oyster after a grime song, which is a photographic journey through London’s vibrant and diverse streets.
